PLANTING INSTRUCTIONS

The plants in the blue pot carrying a wave-shaped label are of excellent quality. When the following planting instructions are observed, the new owner is assured of lush growth and abundant flowering.

Put the plants purchased in a bucket of water to allow the root ball to get thoroughly wet.

Dig a planting hole the size of the blue pot. If the soil is hard (clay soil) or if the soil is barren (sandy soil), it is recommended to dig a slightly larger hole and mix some fertiliser or garden mould with the soil.

Remove any roots growing under the pot and softly squeeze the side of the pot a few times. Hold your other hand on top of the root ball and turn the plant upside down. The plant should now come away from the pot. If this does not work, squeeze the pot a few more times and softly shake it. Place the plant in the planting hole.

Fill the space between the root ball and the edges of the planting hole with fine soil. Make sure that the top of the root ball is level with the surrounding soil. Gently press down the soil.

Feed every plant at least half a litre of water. Add some extra soil if the soil around the plant has settled/bedded down. Water the plant immediately when the soil is dry during the first two weeks. At this stage the plant will firmly take root. Do not apply fertiliser at the first stage, as the root ball still contains sufficient nutrients.
